Bio POLYSICS was formed in 1997 by band leader Hayashi, they have spent the last 10 years spreading their unique audio visual experience all over the world. Named after Hayashi’s first keyboard (the Korg Polysics), POLYSCIS mix harsh guitars with synthesizers and vocoder vocals, creating a sound that is bound to appeal to fans of cult rockers such as DEVO or THE TUBES.
Starting their career in Japan, these men and women in orange overalls and sun glasses quickly secured their place as one forerunners of the TOKYO NEW WAVE OF NEW WAVE scene.
In 1999 Polysics release the first album “1st P” on a small independent label. Shortly after the release the band signed a new record contract with the Japanese major label KI/OON and began to take things to an international level. In summer 2000 the band did their first US show on the music trade fair SXSW in Austin Texas.
In the same year the band released the new album “Hey! Bob! My Friend“ in the US and Republic of Korea. 2003 saw their first US coast-to-coast-tour, which proved to be a big success, with lines outside the well-attended shows saw hordes of fans in their trademark orange overalls and black sunglasses.
